CODY & ASSOCIATES PRODUCTIONS

Mike Cody
has mastered many aspects of stage production including artistic/technical design, stage direction, and production management. He has created over 30 musical productions for legitimate theaters, showrooms, arenas, television, and movies.

After 20 years of performing and directing musical theater shows, Cody launched Cody & Associates Productions (CAP), a progressive company specializing in unique theatrical stage productions. CAP was quickly recognized after producing a concert at the Troubadour in Los Angeles and what was to become one of the first pop music videos. Cody moved his company to Las Vegas when he was asked to help install and operate new production show concepts. His ability to hand-pick and lead teams of production personnel brought him acclaim and recognition in production management. He was selected to supervise the final construction and technical installation of the Mirage Theater/Showroom and the NYNY Theater for MGM.

Mr. Cody's expertise as a producer has been demonstrated in award-winning stage productions including Splash and Siegfried and Roy's, Beyond Belief.  His management and  operating systems kept each running as a financial and creative success for over a decade.

His  introduction to the entertainment arena began as a teenager in 1961. By the age of 16, Mike Cody was an accomllished song & dance man and drummer. He played and recorded for surf bands throughout Southern California.  He debuted as a singer/dancer, appearing in the  movie Gypsy and became a contract player for Warner Bros. studios. Before he was 20, Cody had performed in the movie Bye Bye  Birdie, for Columbia Pictures, established himself as the "tap-dubbing" expert for TV variety shows and appeared as a regular performer on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour.

Mike Cody has had the encouragement and support from many of the best (and renowned) in the theater business. Movie director/icon, Mervin Leyroy, recognized his talent at age 14, gave him a screen test and introduced him to the musical theater business. Cody is the protégé of tap choreographer, Louis DaPron. The legendary Ginger Rogers asked Cody to learn the famous Fred and Ginger tap dance numbers and partner for her final world tours. Academy award-winning choreographer, Onna White depended on his performing and directing talents for over 3 decades. Milton Berle described Mike Cody as an“expert in comic rhythm and timing on stage." At age 98, George Burns asked Mike Cody to over-see the stage management of all his remaining performances. Ann Margaret continues to praise his accomplishments since performing in her Vegas shows. Producer, Kenneth Feld (Barnum & Baily Circus), has relied on Mike Cody and team to oversee musical theater projects for the past 20 years. Producer/director, Michael Flatley, when formulating ideas (and getting his chops ready) for the acclaimed River Dance and Lord of the Dance, searched out and studied with tapmaster, Mike Cody.

Under Cody's direction, his army of show business specialists continues to work with passion and commitment. CAP produced a very innovative show in China and he continues to confirm his legacy with a new website based project called Tapmaster. Mike Cody's career is truly a celebration of one man's passion for a lifetime as a musical theater artist.
